A native of Hollandale, Eugene “Buck” Singleton Clarke has represented District 22 in the state Senate since 2004.

Clarke received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mississippi State University in 1978. He was a member of the Washington County Board of Education from 1987 to 1991. Clarke has also been a member of the Washington County Republican Executive Committee.

He and his wife, Paula, have three children, Anne Read, Carlisle and Ellen.
