Mississippi Today joined the Mississippi Society of Georgia over the weekend to celebrate the Magnolia State’s bicentennial.
Saturday’s Mississippi Picnic in Atlanta’s Chastain Park was one of the society’s weekend activities saluting the state. The Mississippi Society began hosting summer events in 2010.

Georgians celebrate Mississippi bicentennial with picnic in Atlanta

Sereena Henderson managed Mississippi Today’s social media and reported on Mississippi culture from August 2016 until June 2020. She was also a member of the engagement team and curated and delivered the daily newsletter. I sure hated to miss the picnic this year. Hopefully we’ll be in town next year!
