Mississippi Republican Party chairman Joe Nosef has been elected to serve as vice-chairman of the National Republican Party, leading the southern region.

Nosef’s unanimous election came at a meeting of party officials in Washington, D.C., ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration. He will lead the southern region alongside national committeewoman Cindy Costa of South Carolina.

The announcement came in a tweet from the Mississippi Republican Party’s account Thursday morning.
