Vice President-elect Mike Pence will be spending his Thanksgiving in the Meridian area, the Meridian Star reported. President-elect Donald Trump will spend his in Florida. Spokesman Jason Miller, spokesman for the Trump Presidential Transition team, made the announcement Monday. Pence will be visiting his son, 2nd Lt. Michael Pence, a Marine who is stationed at Naval Air Station Meridian. Lt. Pence is receiving his flight training at Naval Air Station Meridian, Penny Randall, a public affairs officer at the base, confirmed to the newspaper. Randall, however, said she could not comment on any possible visit from the Vice President-elect to the Meridian base. No public events in Mississippi have been announced for Pence during the Thanksgiving week.
