• Law authorities in Greenville and the FBI are investigating the fire that destroyed  Hopewell Baptist Church Tuesday night. “Vote Trump” was spray painted on the side of the building. This is being considered a hate crime.

• Delta State University joined the seven other public universities in Mississippi in taking down the state flag, replacing it with the Mississippi Economic Council’s new bicentennial banner.

• By state law, Supreme Court races in Mississippi are nonpartisan, so candidates aren’t allowed to say their party affiliation publicly. But according to campaign finance reports, some top state Republicans have donated to Court of Appeals Judge Kenny Griffis, and incumbent Jim Kitchens has been financially supported by many well-known Democrats.
